The Commercial Section of the Danish Embassy in Stockholm is looking for a Commercial Advisor

Are you able to estimate the market potential for Danish companies in Sweden?

Do you have insight in urban development and experience with project management?

Do you have knowledge about and/or network among Danish companies who deliver solutions to design of buildings infrastructure, construction and system solution integrators?

Do you have insight in private and public procurement?

You will be part of the Commercial Section of the Embassy as well as part of the regional team for the Nordic countries within the Trade Council. The Commercial Section in Stockholm consist of 4 sector advisors, 2 interns and a head of the Commercial Section. The Nordic team consists of sector-specialised advisors based in the other Nordic and Baltic countries. The Trade Council is an integrated part of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark. The commercial sections operate in close cooperation with the other department at the Embassies.

As a Commercial Advisor, you will act as a privileged partner to Danish companies developing their business in Sweden. Your key task is to develop a network in the public and private sector in Sweden in order to identify projects and business opportunities for Danish companies. Projects could be within design of urban spaces and buildings, circular economy, infrastructure, mobility etc. We are flexible and will adapt  to your experience as long as it goes hand in hand with Swedish demand and priorities and with Danish competences and solutions.

Your core competence is to transform opportunities into tangible export projects and get the Danish companies on board. Throughout the process, your overall focus is to act as a partner and consultant to the Danish companies. At the same time, you team up with colleagues at the Embassy, in the Trade Council with Danish stakeholders such as business organisation, utilities, municipalities and the like in order to build a strong business case for each project to the Swedish market. In the cooperation with your Trade Council colleagues in the Nordic countries, you will chare your knowledge and network to ensure that your key competences become an important part of the Trade Councils value proposition to Danish companies in the Nordic markets.

As the Commercial Advisor, you are subject to clear performance targets as well as individual financial targets. Your services will be invoiced to the Danish companies and stakeholders and you are expected to deliver on your performance targets from day one.

The ideal candidate would meet the following requirements: 

You have a university degree, preferably within International Business and/or Economics,   or another relevant degree.

You have experience within international business.

You are comfortable and have experience with bot sales and delivery of projects.

You are able to navigate in the Swedish business environment in both the public and private sector.

You are fluent in English and either Danish or Swedish.

Ideally, you have knowledge about infrastructure, projects, public procurement processes   and in working with system integrators and developers.

We expect you to be pro-active, strategic, sales-minded, with a strong focus on creating results. You are equally comfortable when speaking to the decision level in a big organisation as well as the technician in a concrete project. You respect your colleagues and have well-developed cooperation and team skills. At the same time, you know how to work independently and get small and big things done. You are structured and have the ability to prioritise.

The candidate will be contracted as a local employee at the Embassy. The salary will be determined according to qualifications and to the salary level of similar position in Sweden.
