Family Reunification

Applicants who have a valid Swedish residence permit or a D-visa do not need a visa for visiting Denmark. You can therefore apply for Family Reunification directly from the Immigration Service in Copenhagen. For more information, call the Danish Immigration service at +45 35 36 66 00.

Please note the following:

  • The application should normally be submitted in your country of origin. However, if you have been staying in another country as a resident for more than 3 months, the application may be submitted in that country. If you have a valid Swedish residence permit you can submit your application directly with the Immigration Service in Copenhagen.
  • Please visit the website of the Danish Immigration Service  for general information on family reunification.
  • Family Reunification applications must be submitted in person (including children).

All applicants must book an appointment at the Embassy to submit an application. Please contact the embassy on +46 (0)8 406 75 00 to book an appointment. Opening hours: Monday-Wednesday 9am–12pm and Thursday 1pm-4pm.                                                                                                                             

If you have applied for residence permit online or directly to the Danish Immigration Service in Copenhagen you can visit the embassy to obtain your biometrics. To submitt your biometrics you need to book an appointment. For more information look here.

 

The following should be submitted with your application:

  1. An application forms (please see instructions on the front of the application form).Please supply your Swedish contact details: address, mobile telephone number and e-mail address.
  2. Original passport.
  3. Additional documentation as listed on the front of the application form
  4. Non-refundable administation fee of SEK 1840 per passport holder.

Children under six and family members of EU/EEA nationals (copy of EU/EEA national's passport and Marriage Certificate required) are free of charge.
