Do you want to help Danish companies which have been negatively affected by Brexit regain export opportunities? Do you have knowledge of the Swedish market and previous experience with market entry counselling? Then you might be the person we are looking for.

About the job

With the EU Brexit Adjustment Reserve, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark has received funds to help Danish companies negatively affected by Brexit through measures supporting their internationalisation in order to enable new export opportunities in the Swedish market replacing exports lost due to Brexit.

As a Market Entry Advisor at the Danish Embassy in Stockholm you will help these companies by advising them in their entry to the Swedish market. You will support Danish SMEs in their export plans and implementation of their entry to the Swedish market or expansion of their current market activities. You will support companies' first contact, initiatives and activities in the Swedish market and help create new growth opportunities for the companies. You will work on the initial first steps at both strategic and operational levels.

 

Qualifications

  • A relevant academic education, e.g. in social sciences, trade or the like.
  • Knowledge of the Swedish market in general terms (relevant to “market entry” counselling), knowledge of Danish strongholds as well as experience within public-private partnerships
  • Ability to work cross sector as well as closely with the Trade Councils major sector tracks
  • Knowledge of the Trade Council´s SME services and our ways of working with market entry
  • Ability to create close relationships with companies and authorities, and actively use your network.
  • Experience working in an international environment
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English. Working language is Danish and/or Swedish
  • You work efficiently on your own, but also as a team player in the regional setting of sector teams
  • Committed, outgoing and result oriented.
  • Able to handle many relationships and projects at the same time - and good at seeing opportunities and contexts.

 

Terms of employment

This position is temporary until 31st December 2023. All employment with the Danish Foreign Service also requires security clearance by the Danish Security and Intelligence Service.

You will be employed as a local employee at the embassy. Salary according to qualifications within a public organization. You will be entitled to 25 days of paid vacation per year and your standard working hours will be 37 hours per week with a large degree of flexibility in organizing your own daily working hours. Benefits and other conditions will be based on the Embassy’s Staff Handbook.

 

Place of work

You will be hired at The Trade Council in Sweden, be part of the embassy staff and report directly to the Head of Trade in the embassy. In your daily work, you will report to the Head of Trade.

 

Expected start date

September 30th 2022 or soonest thereafter.
